Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Arrive Hanoi

Arrive in Hanoi, greeting at the airport and transfer to your hotel. At leisure to discover the 1000 year old Old Quarter in the heart of Hanoi. Accommodation in Hanoi.

Day 2: Hanoi city tour
  We have a full day city tour of Hanoi on foot and combined transportation of cyclo and car from the ancient Soaring Dragon City now known as the French Quarter to the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, his stilt house and One Pillar pagoda, and continue on to the Temple of Literature, the first university of Vietnam. You may be also arranged to visit a historian to learn more about Vietnam history and culture or a veteran who took part in the wars in the past (if it is your interested)

Day 3: Hanoi

Free on your own to explore the Old quater of Hanoi. Accommodation in Hanoi (B)

Day4: Hanoi - Halong

 

Depart at 8am for a 3.5 hour drive through the picturesque countryside to Ha Long Bay. Along the way see the farms and rice fields and villages of the north-east. Upon arrival embark on a luxury Junk. Welcome wine is offered by the friendly and professional captain and his crew. Lunch is prepared by a celebrated local chef while the boat is gliding lazily across the unbelievably calm sea, with thousands of precipitous limestone peaks jutting dramatically out of the water. Explore the bay and visit its floating villages by tender or kayak, or swim and relax on one of the bay’s secluded beaches. Accommodation on board. (B,L,D)

Day 5: Halong

A new day dawns bringing the pleasures of the early morning and a sunrise at the sea. After breakfast, transfer to a private boat for cruising to other beautiful area of the Bay for a whole day paddling at your own pace, exploring the hidden cave, swimming at the sandy beaches, enjoying the seafood lunch, getting touch to the fisherman at the fishing village, visitting the floating school where the shool bus is replaced by sampan. Back to our main boat for relaxing.

Day 6: Halong – Hanoi

Continue exploring the fantastically-shaped islets, visit floating houses and picturesque fishing village and peal farms. An early lunch is served before disembarking the boat at noon.
Drive back to Noi Bai airport with optional stop at Phu Lang Pottery village which dates back from the 15th century.Board the evening flight to Hue. Accommodation in Hue. (B,L)

Day 7: Hue

  Tour the symbol of Hue, the 19th century Royal Citadel and learn stories of Vietnam’s royal past under the Nguyen Dynasty. Explore the moated ruins of the Forbidden Purple City. Embark on a private traditional Dragon Boat for cruising upriver to visit Thien Mu pagoda and Minh Mang tomb, or drive through the small villages in the countryside, stopping on the way to visit families that make Vietnamese traditional conical hat and an incense making village. Accommodation in Hue (B)
Day 8: Hue - Hoian
  Leaving Hue for Hoi an, passing through scenic coast, stop for the famous Cham museum where you can see most of the remaining master pieces of Champa Kingdom, an Indianised culture that flourished from the 2 nd to the 15 th AD. Continue on to Hoi An - the charming ancient town, famous as the 17th century trading port of Fai Fo, with its fascinating mix of Chinese, Japanese and French architecture. Day 9: Hoian
  Today we have a walking tour of this historic town and visit some of the highlights, including the Temples of Phuc Kien and Quang Dong, and the 16th century Japanese Covered Bridge. Visit a local home and watch them make their famous silk lanterns. You can learn to make your own lantern to bring home.. In the afternoon, take a scenic boat trip to explore the local river life of Hoian in the past and nowaday. Accommodation in Hoian. (B)

Day 10: Hoi An

Free at leisure. Accommodation in Hoian (B)

Day 11: Hoi An - Saigon

Free at leisure until taking one-hour flight to Saigon. Hotel checking in, exploring the city or leisure on your own. Accommodation in Saigon. (B).

Day 12: Depart Saigon

After breakfast, sight seeing dynamic city of Ho Chi Minh city, including Notre Dame Cathedral, the Old Central Post Office and the Great Municipal Theater where they shot scenes from The Quiet American, followed by a visit to the War Remnants Museum visit to Ben Thanh market for a panorama of the fresh foods that go into making Vietnam’s fabulous cuisine.

Tranfser to the airport for your flight home with the memories of a life time. (B)
